Like There's No Tomorrow by Camille Eide
Amazon synopsis
What if loving means letting go?

Scottish widower Ian MacLean is plagued by a mischievous grannie, bitter regrets, and an ache for something he’ll never have again. His only hope for freedom is to bring his grannie's sister home from America. But first, he'll have to convince her young companion, Emily Chapman, to let the woman go.   Emily devotes herself to foster youth and her beloved Aunt Grace. Caring for others quiets a secret fear she holds close to her heart. But when Ian appears, wanting to whisk Grace off to Scotland, everything Emily holds dear is at risk.   Like There’s No Tomorrow is an amusing yet heart-tugging love story about two kind, single caretakers, two quirky, old sisters bent on reuniting, and too many agendas. It’s a tale of family, fiery furnaces, faith, and the gift of each new day.

Camille Eide has written a book that is heartwarming, fun and inspiring. It's one of those books who's character's capture your imagination and heart. I liked the way she developed each character and made them real and believable. I laughed at Ian chasing his granny driving the truck, and cried with Emily as she learned about her future. Aunt Grace and Grandma Maggie are quite the pair. I liked how this book was not all serious and had many lighthearted moments. It's a book about living life as if it was your last and the joy of each new day.

Even though this book was fiction, There was many lessons that the reader can learn as well. I kept thinking about something my dad taught me when I was younger. My little sister had borrowed something without asking and I had gotten upset about it.

My dad made a fist and said to me ' you should not hold your things close to you.' He opened his fist and said, 'instead you need to hold your things out like this and let go, and freely give of your stuff.'  It can be hard and one of those things we work on throughout our life.

:-) I recommend this book to everyone!

Like A Love Song by Camille Eide

Amazon.com synopsis.

When she finally surrenders her heart, will it be too late?

Susan Quinn, a social worker turned surrogate mom to foster teens, fights to save the group home she’s worked hard to build. But now, she faces a dwindling staff, foreclosure, and old heartaches that won't stay buried. Her only hope lies with the last person she’d ever turn to—a brawny handyman with a guitar, a questionable past, and a God he keeps calling Father.

I'm so excited to share this book with you! I had the opportunity to meet Camille Eide a couple weekends ago. It was a great deal of fun visiting with her. Her newest book, Like a Love Song released in April.
Once again, Camille Eide has written an engaging story. I really liked how believable Susan Quinn, and the other's were. It was clear to me how much they cared. This book gives a touching but honest look at foster care. It clearly portrays the joys, struggles, and hope that each character goes through. It makes you laugh, cry and hope right along with them. I love how Joe cares about her.  He shows God's love through his actions first. He also share's God's love with each of the children.
It's also a love story between Susan and Joe. I like how their love story grows, changes and has more depth as the story progresses.

I thought this book was good.  It's well written and inspiring.  I would recommend this book to my family and friends.
Please check out her other book "Like There's no Tomorrow"

I received this book from Ashberry Lane to review.

A Lady in Waiting by Susan Meissner

A Lady in Waiting
I have not stayed up late to finish a book for quite some time but found myself up until 1am to finish "A Lady in Waiting". This book, although fiction is thought provoking as well as entertaining. I found myself intrigued by the stories of the 2 Jane's and of Lucy. How will the story intertwine? What are the similarities and differences between each girl? What can I learn from this story?

Jane of the 1500s story was told through the eyes of Lucy. This perspective was interesting because it showed life for the privileged and also life of the servants. I think that it added depth to the story that would have been missed if told from Jane's perspective.

The present day story of Jane was told through her eyes. Her story being set in present day was more familiar to me. It was an important part of the story but I think that the story is about Lucy and Jane and the impact they had on the present day Jane. Little do we know how much of an impact we can have one someone else.

I also appreciated the author clearly stating which story perspective I was reading. It makes it easier to read.

Although this book is fiction, I learned more about English history in a interesting manner. It made me want to research more into the life of Lady Jane and the people around her. I did find that the succession who will be king/queen next was a little hard to follow. This being said, I found myself wanting to find out more about how the line of royalty worked.

The best fiction story is a book that captures your attention, and is an enjoyable read and where the reader learns something whether it be historical, how to do something or a life lesson. I think that Lady in Waiting is a good example of this.

I would recommend this book and others Susan Meissner wrote to my family and friends.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review through Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers.

My Review:
I love Christmas stories! There is something so magical about Christmas season and these books capture it well.
I enjoyed these books very much. The stories take place during a crazy time in the world and in the mist of it one family strives to make christmas a season of hope instead of discouragement. All these stories about about people who are going about doing what they are supposed to and then God says i'm going to change your life, just trust me and It'll all work out.
I have also read other books by these authors and enjoyed them as well.
If you're looking for a heart warming story then these are for you! I recommend it to my friends and family.

Too Rich for a Bride is a charming story about life in a mining town at Cripple Creek, Colorado. Ida Sinclair’s only desire is to have successful career. When she arrives in Cripple Creek, she starts working under Molly O’Bryan. Meanwhile, she has two men pursuing her. What will she do? The Dragon and the Turtle by Donika K. Paul

The Dragon and the Turtle
The Dragon and the Turtle is one of those books that is so enjoyable you have to read it again and again. I liked how
Donita K. Paul, Evangeline Denmark weaved a fun adventure while sharing bibical truth such as being a good friend and encouraging each other.
Sleeping out side is always so exciting and of course a little scary. This book brought back memories of sleeping outside and how things that look normal in the daylight can be scary at night.

Both Padraig and roger had always wanted to camp at the base of Mount Sillymanborrow and here was  their chance! Armed with crunchng baked bugs, and s’mores they set up camp. It’s fun for awhile and then the sun goes down and it gets dark……. They have to rely on each other to get through the night.

I took this book home to read to my niece Maddie (she is 4) who loved it! We finished the book and she wanted me too
read it to her again. You know it’s a good book when your niece wants to read it over and over again. :-)

I received this book to give a review from Waterbrook publishing.

A Million Reason's Why by Kristin Billerbeck

 Million Reason's Why
I just finished reading A Million Reason's Why by Kristin Billerback. If you have not read anything by her then it is a must read for you!
It was a lighhearted fun read that deals with important issues.....It's like a cake that is heavy (dealing with important issues) and then when you put it in your mouth, it's so light and fluffy (everything else in the book). I love how Kristian Billerback can create a good story while hitting on the important things of life. I don't know much about New Orleans and life down there.....but I was able to get a glimpse of what it was like. I think all the things of old time 40's are awesome.
My husband and I went Swing dancing last year for valentines day and had a blast!  This book made me want to go dancing! :-)
