When the winds of scandal blow over, she is once again courted by a man of wealth and dreams of a wealthy life are in her reach. She must now decide whether to pursue the life of leisure or to a life of service.

My Review:
I had a little trouble getting into this book and put it down for awhile. The writing style was not what I was used to. I picked it up a couple weeks later and was able to get a little more interested in the story. It was a little confusing at first with the several different story lines. They appeared to be separate stories but came together nicely at the end. The author created her characters well though and i found that i did not like Katherine’s aunt very much. This story was fairly predictable. I didn’t feel like I learned a lot about the history of the Edwardian time period. I think though that the lesson’s Katherine learned about what was really important in life can be something the reader can apply to her own life. This story is great when you want to relax and just enjoy a good love story.

I would recommend it to my friends who like love stories.

I got this book as a review book from Waterbrook Multnomah.

Hollywood Nobody by Lisa Samson

Scotty Dawn has all the freedom a fifteen-year-old girl could want. As she and her mom, Charley, travel to movie sets for Charley’s work, Scotty’s allowed to go anywhere and be anything. But there are costs to such a life. Scotty doesn’t know who she is, where she comes from, or who to trust. And who is the mysterious man they’ve been running from? Does he hold the clue to Charley’s big secret?

Scotty writes in her Hollywood Nobody blog, and the answers she finds are darker than she had expected. Will she discover who she can trust and finally make sense of her world?
Hollywood nobody is a fun refreshing story about what life is like in Hollywood. Although the main character is 15 and a million years younger then me, I find myself caught up in her story about her life on the road.  I found it humorous and funny.  Gotta love hiding the cheese……

Looking for a particular book.

I am looking for the book about a girl who is at an open air market and runs into this handsome man who has blue eyes. They talk and he gives her a gold coin. She doesn't see him again and goes on this adventure where there is this guy who is annoying but is there for her. At the end of the book, she realizes that this blue eyed guy and the brown eyed guy are one and the same. He hid his eyes so she wouldn't recognize him and he could protect her.
It's a christian fiction book. I don't remember the title or the author.

To Dance with Dolphins by Bonnie Leon

Amazon Review:

Twenty-two-year-old Claire Murray has suffered from a mysterious disease for years. Her social circle has shrunk to a small support group for people with chronic illness and disability. But what if life couldbe about more than doctors, pain, and medications?
Claire and three others--old grouch Tom, hippy-holdout Willow, and moody Taylor--hatch plans for a cross-country trip to swim with the dolphins in Florida. Only a day into the trip, they unexpectedly need help. And who happens to be hitchhiking along the highway but a young, good-looking loner named Sean Sullivan? However, the last thing he wants is to be harnessed to a bunch of ailing travelers.
Though the journey proves difficult, following God's plan might be even harder. Will they find the courage to follow their dreams and dare to live again?

My Review:
This was one of those books that you as a reader learn life lessons & God lessons right along with the characters. Trusting God in everything is one of the lessons learned.  It's not easy having a chronic illness especially ones that are not visible. I smiled with the characters, felt sad, and was frustrated. Although Claire, was the "main character" this book did well to feature the other characters too. I didn't know a lot about chronic illnesses before reading this book. I have better understanding the challenges that come up.
I recommend this book to others.
I received this book from Ashberry Lane Publishing to read and review. :)

When Grace Sings by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Amazon Review:

Alexa Zimmerman wonders if the Old Order Mennonite community in Arborville, Kansas will ever fully accept her. Her family roots here aren’t what anyone thought when she first arrived, but she is hopeful that her culinary and hospitality skills will win the skeptics over. The bed-and-breakfast she’s operating needs to succeed so Alexa agrees to allow Briley Forrester, the hotshot reporter from Chicago, to stay as a long-term boarder not knowing his real motives for being amongst the Plain folk.
But when Alexa agrees to host her cousin Anna-Grace Braun, the presence of extended family brings out Alexa’s insecurities and sets Briley on the trail to uncovering a web of hidden truths.
Plans for a secure future and the sweetness of young romance hang in the balance when Alexa and Anna-Grace have to face that their secrets are interconnected, binding the two in ways they could not have imagined. They must trust in a loving, heavenly Father and His plan for their futures.

My Review:
When I first started reading, I did not think I would enjoy it  very much. It switched back and forth from several different characters. I decided to put it aside for a bit and pick it up a little later on. The second time I picked it up, I found myself getting caught up in the story and begin to really enjoy it. I enjoyed the different stories and how they connected. I don't usually enjoy Amish books but this one was good. It was a cute love story and a story about secrets and forgiveness. I didn't like that only Alexa's story was completed. I felt like Anna- Grace's story just ended in the middle. I really hope there will be another story finishing up her story.
I recommend this book to Family & Friends.

I received this book from Waterbrook Multnomah as a review book.
